Linkin Park Live in Jakarta! The Live Rock sensation Linkin Park made sure the first show on the SE Asia leg of their Meteora tour surpassed the imaginable. Sunday, June 13th will be remembered by the 25,000+ enthusiastic fans as one of these rare rock concerts that keep the live concert industry thriving.
Touted a great success for the concert promoters and the production company alike by the international press, the band performed for this show on a deluxe emPad concert and monitor rig.

The rig was designed and supplied by Mata Elang / Harry Kiss Production. System engineers were Eric @ FOH and Andik @ Monitors. Linkin Park supplied their own techs to operate the rig: Brad Divens FOH, Brad Wright on monitors and Jason "Rooster" Ruggles as on-stage and systems engineer.

* The FOH system consisted of 16 cabinets CC35 per side making up the main Line Arrays. An extra 4 cabs B315 per side were ground stacked for added Low on the main stacks.
* 3 rows of each 4 cabs B315 in cascade arrangement were used as centre Sub system to deal with the low Frequency power alley effect. This directional centre Sub system also performed remarkably well its second duty which was to steer the Low frequencies of the entire FOH system away from the stage. This resulted in a clean stage where the backline and monitors did not have to fight with the LF produced by the brute power of the FOH rig.
* A small but sweetly performing Center Fill system comprising 8 pcs B7 MH cabinets was hung off the roof structure provided by Mata Elang.
* To complete the FOH design, an extra 4 pcs CC35 each in SLL and SRR position took care of the need for far Left and far Right Stage area fills to properly cover entire width of the 120 meter wide by 140 meter deep audience area.
* 15 Amplifer racks each fitted with 1 pc emPad 224 processor, and 3 units emPad DXA2400 amps were used to power the FOH rig.

Delays were not needed.

Respectable max SPL levels of 125 dB C weighted were measured @ FOH mix position 45 meter off the Stage edge.
The comments of FOH engineer Brad Divens; "Very nice!". He was impressed with the system's smooth and powerful response.

The headroom of the FOH system was increased twice during the concert with 3 dB each time by emPad system engineer Eddy Vermeersch. The need for these increases (total 6 dB !) were caused by the very dense and highly responsive audience. Good thing the emPad design allowed effortlessly for these increases. Brad, if you read this, further comments and suggestions are welcome.

* On stage, a total of 9 MS 69 monitors were used and they performed without a glitch.
* Side Fills were 2 arrays consisting of 4 pcs CC35 flown off the roof trusses.
* The emPad monitor system was powered by 5 racks containing a total of 8 emPad 224 processors and 15 emPad DXA 2400 amplifiers.

Linkin Park monitor engineer Brad Wright was seen using only 2 EQ points on his TC digital EQ’s. Brad, if this observation was incomplete, please send us a mail!
Processing and effects racks were rented for the tour from Showco/Clair Brothers.
All in all this concert underlined the capabilities of both Mata Elang / Harry Kiss Production and emPad in Indonesia.
